November 24, 2017 Board Meeting Minutes

President, Dave Zeemont called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.

Present were: President, Dave Zeemont; Secretary, Debbie McAllen; Director at Large, Dave Wright; Director at Large, Ginger Dickson; Landscaping Chair, Carrie Gaddy; and Operational Gatemeister, Al Shawala.

Residents: Jan Thune and Judy Corona.

Minutes: The Board Minutes of October 12, 2017 were accepted with the correction of “Regency ” added under New Business, Second paragraph, first bullet.

“…… concern with some Desert Willows along Constitution and Regency that haven’t ……”

Ginger Dickson motioned to accept the minutes as corrected. Dave Wright seconded the motion.

The Board approved the Secretary’s Minutes without objection.


Treasurer’s Report:

No report was given.

Old Business: Dave Zeemont reported receiving an amendment to our by-laws from Jan Thune for the January General meeting and will be on our ballot along with Larry Felhauer and Steve Bailey’s amendments.


Committee Reports:

  • Gates: Al Shawala reported the entrance gate by Anthem has been fixed both in and out.

  • We are having Ramon fix the low wall surrounding the fountain, on the outside of the gate near Anthem along with the fountain. All the lights on the gates are working. Someone had hit the electric eye at the Barcelona gate, Al called Apex, they sent someone out but Al already had fixed the gate so that the gate could temporally shut but when Apex came out and noticed that the gate closed, they didn’t straighten the electric eye. So they will be making a return visit to straighten the electric eye. The party code #5555 is still working and will be on throughout the holiday season.

  • Landscaping: Landscaping Chair, Carrie Gaddy supplied the new contract of the landscaping company we are switching to called Extreme Landscaping to the Board for signature. Along the Anthem strip, boulders have been removed and placed at the top of Constitution Rd.; Ramon is replacing the drips along the key pad island and behind the fountain; and there is significant erosion along the east and west side of Anthem which Kelly Dickson is fixing.

Judy Corona asked about the weeds along Barcelona and Anthem and how its maintained. The County owns that property and have been out to mow but we will as for a quote from Extreme Landscaping to possibly spray and maintain the weeds along those streets.

  • Design Control: No report. A request was received and sent to William Weber, Design Control Chair for a neighbor to construct an additional garage to their property.

New Business:

Jan Thune couldn’t find the Covenants for 2014 listed on our website. She said that 2008 and 2011 were on the site. We will contact Kathy Mayer to check CRNA website that the Covenants of 2014 were listed.

Dave Zeemont reminded everyone that the CRNA Christmas Party is on Saturday, December 16 at 6:oo pm. RSVP by December 12th to Kathy Mayer at(575) 647-1939 or Contact Kathy. PHCC members can charge it to their account but must indicate choice of entrée to Kathy by December 12th. All nonmembers should deliver checks made out to PHCC to Kathy at 8069 Constitution Rd. in coffee table (lift lid) on front porch. Cost is $30 per person including tax and tip.

Dave Zeemont will contact Picacho Hills Country Club will be available to hold our January General meeting on January 17th at 6:00 pm. More information will follow once confirmed.

The next meeting of the Board will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. at 1236 Regency Court. All are welcome; however, always check with the Secretary to make sure the meeting date has not been changed due to schedule conflicts.

Debbie McAllen motioned the meeting to adjourn, seconded by Ginger Dickson. Meeting was adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
