August 15, 2016 Board Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 4:35 pm.
Present were: Dave Zeemont, President; Steve Bailey, Secretary; Bob Crowley. Treasurer; and Dave Wright, Director at Large. Also present were William Webber, Design Control Chair; and Jan Thune.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Bob Crowley presented the Treasurer’s Report (attached.) Report was approved by the Board.
Dave Wright, Gates Chair, stated that the electronics board went out on the Anthem Gates. Cost will be about $850. The gates hinges on Anthem are making sporadic noise when opening/closing. They have been inspected and no problems were found. We received a bill for the Barcelona Gate which had been bashed in a couple months ago. Cost $200.
Carrie Gaddy, Landscaping Chair, reported via email that the plants that were able to move (from along Anthem) have been replanted in some of the interior islands.
Steve Bailey brought up the rising incidents of people rushing to go in the out gates when open. Several near miss accidents have been reported. A suggestion was made that when the current houses are finished being built, the problem might go away. Bailey asked if that meant we would just ignore it and it would go away? A clarification was made that we would monitor the gates and take appropriate action.
Steve Bailey brought a complaint about bright lights on the uphill side being left on at all hours. It was decided that a letter should be sent to the offending party. As a reminder to all, exterior lights should be the type that forces the light downward, not outward. Since several homes have lights that shine outward, they should make every effort to diminish the bright glare and have them on only as needed for coming and going. The idea is to protect the night time views of neighbors looking toward the city lights.
Dave Zeemont gave a short report on the survey about the water company’s chain link fence they placed at the entry to Fairway Village. The majority of responders stated that they should be removed or covered up. Apparently the plan to fence in about 19 acres of the sewer treatment area was turned down (actually tabled) by the water company board.
Steve Bailey officially announced that he is stepping down as Secretary after 10 years on the job. He stated that he would stay on until a replacement was selected and voted in by the Board.
The next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, September 12th at 4:30 pm at 1236 Regency Court.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:20 pm.
Respectfully submitted,\ Steve Bailey, Secretary CRNA\ 575-520-0668
