May 9, 2016 Board Meeting Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm
Present were Dave Zeemont, President; Steve Bailey, Secretary; Larry Felhauer and Dave Wright, Directors at Large. Also present were William Webber, Design Control Chair; Mike Floyd, Builder and resident; and John Galagher.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Treasury Report was waived due to Treasurer not being present.
Mike Floyd gave a short presentation regarding the siting of a proposed house. The Board had to decide if it violated any CC&Rs and if it needed a variance request. Nothing in the proposal violated any CC&Rs and it was the feeling that a variance was not needed. Official word would be held until a neighbor returned from out of town and could report his case. The Design Control Committee had previously approved the building design and everything except the siting.
John Gallagher, a guest, presented a proposal to build a type of wi-fi in Coronado Ridge. The Board asked several questions, mainly about what benefits this proposal would have for our residents, how it worked in general, and how much would it cost. The Board felt that more information would be needed before making any decision on this matter.
Larry Felhauer, Road Resealing Chair, stated that, with weather and other things cooperating, roadwork would begin the week of May 16th. Recent high winds, as well as occasional rain, make accurate predictions very difficult.
After researching the situation, Dave Wright presented the option of purchasing a wind sensor for the Anthem Gate which would be self-activated when winds get to a certain (set) wind speed. The Anthem entry gate has a very difficult time opening on windy days and it adds stress to the mechanisms. Currently, the gates are opened (manually, by computer signal) when it is noticed that winds have increased. The Board voted unanimously (4-0) to install the automatic device.
It was also reported that the Barcelona entry gate had been hit by a car and did some damage. It will have to be repaired by Torres Sheet Metal.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:45 pm.
