June 18, 2012 Special Board Meeting Minutes
Special Meeting of the Board of Directors Minutes
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. Those attending were Dave Zeemont, President; Steve Bailey, Secretary; Bob Crowley, Treasurer; Larry Felhauer and Kathy Mayer, Directors at Large. Also attending were Carrie Gaddy, Landscaping Committee and guest Heber Rhoton.
The purpose of the meeting was to iron out the details of a proposal from a new landscaper for both a one time cleanup (bring things up to par) plus a monthly maintenance fee. All immediately agreed that the monthly proposal was good. Some discussion was held about what needed to be done in general to bring things up to our standards. Carrie Gaddy distributed a written check list of each gate area and all of the islands with recommendations for each that she and the proposed landscaper compiled. With this information, the Board voted in favor of the one time fee.
The new landscaping company will be Circle R Landscaping, Heber Rhoton, owner. Mr. Rhoton and crew were directed to begin work next week (June 25th.) Mr. Rhoton agreed that the two gate areas, Anthem Road, and the CR sign areas will get first priority. The first island on Constitution Road as you enter Anthem Gate has already been started since it was in bad condition. Other island areas will be spruced up as time goes on. Please let me know of any problems with "your" island so we can put it on the list.
Neighbors should not expect overnight success, but they should expect steady improvement of all of our common areas. In addition to normal weekly maintenance, Circle R will test all drip system mechanics weekly to make sure plants are getting water. Any dead plants will be removed, including struggling grass plants along Anthem and other places. New plants will be planted as time goes on. One group of neighbors has gotten together and contributed money for the replacement of a tree and other improvements. Although this is not a requirement, it would be a great idea if other "island residents" followed suit and contributed some money to fix their own islands. This obviously would move things along quicker. If you are interested, please contact either Carrie Gaddy or Steve Bailey before embarking on a project so we can determine if the project is feasable in our climate. Remember that some islands (mostly in Phase 3) have no water to them. Labor to plant the plants will be paid for by the Association for any purchased plants.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Steve Bailey, Secretary
