October 10, 2011 Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.

Present were Dave Zeemont, President; Steve Bailey, Secretary; Bob Crowley, Treasurer; and Kathy Mayer, Director at Large.

Also present were Dave Wright, Gates Chair; William Webber, Design Control Chair; and Maxine Webber.

Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.

Bob Crowley gave the Treasurer’s Report (will be sent separately in a couple days.) Bob reported that there was nothing out of the ordinary for the past month. Two residents remain delinquent in paying 2011 assessments. It is quite doubtful these payments will be made and liens will be filed. The Board accepted the report.

Dave Wright, Gates Chair, said that both metal gates had been refurbished. There was some rust spots on the gates and a spot where some inpatient driver scratched the gate. SOS system working fine. Dave is waiting on two new bids for refurbishing the gate structures and CR sign structure. It is thought we may be able to do both gates and sign for the price we thought we would have to pay for one gate and sign.

Steve Bailey reported that he and Larry Felhauer oversaw the plant replenishment of the two entry gateways. The Barcelona Gate was given a more “desert theme” while some new plants replaced dead ones at the Anthem gate. Unfortunately, yellow lantana could not be found this late in the season and we will have to wait until early spring to get some. The Board asked Steve to oversee the replenishment of a few more islands that had gotten hit by the cold winter. Dead plants will be removed and areas replenished. Replacement plants will be the kind that will not need supplemental water. (This project is scheduled to begin this week.)

Bob Crowley, Erosion Control Chair, reported that nothing new was on the agenda.

William Webber reported that one resident had submitted a landscaping plan to the Committee and had been approved. He states that, from the plans, it will be quite nice.

The Board had a discussion regarding financial needs for the year 2012. Numbers were talked over and definite amounts will be voted on at the November meeting. These numbers will be advisory only and will be voted on by the entire membership in January. Currently, it appears there will be less money needed for 2012 than for 2011. Dave Zeemont was asked to secure a date with the Country Club for the January General Membership Meeting. The time and date will be announced as soon as it has been secured.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on Monday, November 14th at 6:30 pm at 1236 Regency Court. If you would like to attend, or would like something placed on the agenda, please contact Steve Bailey (by hitting reply to these minutes.) Meetings are open to all residents; however, it would be nice to know if you plan to attend so seating can be arranged.

Respectfully submitted,

Steve Bailey
